The company behind the checkout

iOS Tracker is a trading name of BH Commerce Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with its registered office in Manchester. The registration details are printed at the foot of this page rather than buried in the terms, because a shop asking for your card details ought to be checkable before you hand them over, not afterwards.

Behind the name is a very small team rather than a call centre. The people who choose the stock are the people who answer the email and pack the parcels, so nothing here gets escalated to a department that does not exist. It is also why the range stays narrow: a shop that sells everything has handled none of it.

What "works with Find My" actually commits us to

Plenty of tags claim compatibility and then ask you to install their own app, create an account and trust a map nobody has audited. Orbit Tag does none of that. It registers as an "Other Item" in Apple’s own Find My app, and its position is relayed and encrypted by Apple’s network rather than by a server of ours. That is the only version of the phrase we are prepared to print on a page.

Holding to it rules stock out. We will not sell a tracker that hides a subscription behind the setup screen, that seals its battery in so the whole tag becomes waste the day it goes flat, or that depends on a manufacturer’s server staying switched on. Apple, Find My and AirTag are Apple’s trademarks; this shop is independent, and nothing here is endorsed by Apple.

Apple only, and that is a design decision

The reach of a tag like this has very little to do with its own Bluetooth radio. It comes from every passing Apple device relaying an encrypted position back to you without their owners ever knowing. That crowdsourced network belongs to Apple, it is closed, and it is the entire reason a tag the size of a coin can report from another city.

So there is no Android app for Orbit Tag, and there will not be one, not because we could not be bothered, but because the network the tracker lives on is not ours to open. If the person who will carry it uses an Android phone, this is the wrong purchase and we would rather you did not make it. If they carry an iPhone or an iPad, it slots in beside the rest of their kit with nothing else to install.

The hardware is made overseas and we do not pretend otherwise. It is imported in bulk, cleared through customs and held in the UK long before it appears on this site, and every order is then picked, packed and posted from here by Royal Mail. Nothing is forwarded from an overseas warehouse after you have paid, and no parcel of ours starts its journey abroad.

That is not only about speed. Because the goods clear customs while they are still ours, no import duty, handling fee or courier surcharge can arrive at your door afterwards. What you agree at the checkout is the whole of what you pay, and there is no second invoice waiting behind the letterbox.

Getting it to you, and sending it back

Free UK delivery is included on every order, whatever its size. The dispatch window, the delivery estimate and the length of the refund period all live on the shipping and returns page rather than here, where they would quietly go out of date. In words: it is dispatched promptly, it comes by Royal Mail, and if you change your mind inside the published window you send it back and get your money back.

A person reads the email

There is no ticket system here, and nothing automated answers first. Messages reach an address a person actually reads, it is printed below, and there is a form on the contact page if that is easier, and the reply comes from somebody who can look at your order and open a box to check something if it comes to that. Ask before you buy if you are unsure; we would far rather talk you out of the wrong tracker than process the return afterwards.
